A Call from the Vet

Willa’s vet called a few minutes ago ~ I couldn’t breathe for the first few seconds of the call, especially after the doctor adopted a sympathetic tone. According to the doctor, the reason the results took so long to come back is the first specialist could not say with 100% certainty Willa does have cancer. The slide was passed on to two other specialists who could not agree on whether or not it was cancer, either. Willa has until next Tuesday morning to de-lump or she’s going in for a biopsy. The fact there is a chance that she may night have Lymphoma is ‘good news’…but it’s just more time to spend in limbo, worrying until I have the actual diagnosis. Poor Lumpy (<–new nickname). Otherwise, Willa’s blood work came back with fabulous results. If it weren’t for the lumps she’d be in A+ condition (with the exception of the epilepsy, of course). On the topic of her epilepsy ~ the vet said it will take Willa about two weeks to get used to the medication. By then she should be more like her spastic self and less lethargic (she’s probably sore from all of the extra snoring she’s been doing lately).
