In all honesty I tried 'breaking' things one by one until I got Live+Press to work (thus the "...limping along"). I'm not sure if the changes made to the code create/increase any sort risk (security or otherwise). So far I haven't found any *real* issues ~ posting and editing WordPress entries synch with LiveJournal with no problem. However, deleting a post from WordPress will not synch to LJ (but I'm working on it).
