Testing Image Headlines

[edit] The problem has been fixed! Thanks ColdForged ~ you are a sanity saver!!

For some odd reason the image headlines plugin on my site is still functioning (points to title of this entry), while the image headlines plugin on scarecrow.la has stopped functioning entirely.

I haven’t made any changes on scarecrow.la since the gravatar install on 06/05/2005. After I noticed and error with the image headlines this afternoon (the first post since 06/03/2005) I deactivated the gravatar plugin and then re-installed the image headline plugin on scarecrow.la as per the instructions included with the plugin. I configured everything as necessary, double checked my settings, uploaded the fonts again…no luck. I keep getting the same error: ‘ Unknown Error creating file.’ in the preview text area on the options page AND before each title on the posts.

The last ‘working’ post was 06/03/05 and the cached images for the previous posts have since been deleted (cached for 14 days). I can’t find a solution to this very frustating error. I’ve googled, searched wordpress support, searched dreamhost support (my host really seems to be sticking it to us lately when it comes to ‘necessary changes) AND searched the comments on coldforge.org. Nothing. I even took a crack at looking at the source…which is Greek to me, of course. I did find where the error shows up in the source [{ if( $DebugImgHead ) echo( “Unknown Error creating file.” ); ] but I can find no correlation..

Fek.

You forgot to end a tag =)

And BTW, IMO you need to change the text colors to a little darker so they can be read, and get rid of the hover text effect, I find it kinda annoying. =\

Oh crumbs. I ended the tag ~ but when I ‘cut’ the entry the end tag was effectively hidden. *fixed*

I noticed the text tended to blend in with the background. Actually, my intention was to lighten my background images ~ I made the images a bit darker than I wanted (I’m trying to steer clear of another ‘dark’ theme ~ with little luck ;-p). I initially threw the images up to test placement and never got around to finishing up =/ I’ll play around with the colors once I have the images right.

I kinda like the hover effect. I’m sure eventually I’ll tire of it…but for now I’ll keep it.

Thanks for taking the time to critique =)

I think your headlines look hot, hot, hot. Look completely awesome in Firefox. I’m sure they look like parboiled ass in IE but who cares?
