After lugging exercise equipment from the warehouse to our house this morning (and afternoon, *urgh*) I think we’ve decided on our next vehicle purchase. After driving around in a Ford F-350 all morning ‘Cro is stuck on the idea of getting a heavy duty pick up truck. I think that would be the best fit for him ~ powerful, fast and utilitarian. Quite often, as homeowners, we find ourselves needing a truck for various projects. My Jeep Wrangler and his Nissan 300zx just won’t cut it when it comes to hauling lumber, carpet, mattresses, etc.
We haven’t decided on a make/model yet but I’d like to steer clear of Ford. My experience with Ford trucks, and Ford customer service, was not pleasant one. My brand new truck spent more time in the shop during it’s first year than my Jeep has in four years *knocks on wood*. Unfortunately, it was never the same issue so the ‘lemon law’ never applied. So far we are leaning towards the Dodge Ram (’Cro & I prefer the SRT10). My father and several friends have nothing but good things to say about the Dodge Ram’s performance and reliability. It’s a tough looking vehicle, with it’s Peterbilt-like front end…with an engine powerful enough to give me a god complex while driving down the road.
Heheh, ‘Cro would be such a bully on the interstate…well, even more so than he is now. Besides, it is a ridiculous sight to see to people over 6 feet tall pull themselves out of a teeny 300zx. I’m more partial to the more utilitarian vehicle, such as a truck or Jeep. I don’t like riding close to the ground or being closed in, which would rule out most cars, and I find the over-sized SUV’s are just too pretentious for my liking. We have some time to shop around ~ it will be several months until my Jeep is paid off.
