One of our two camellias finally has a bloom =) It is good to see the old trees have snapped back after last year’s pruning disaster ‘Cro just would not listen to me and hacked away at the tree, assuming he knew best because he had a penis *wifely scowl*. Nevermind the fact I actually studied horticulture (albeit years ago).
According to our neighbor, who has lived next door since 1946, the trees were planted in the early 1950’s by the orignal owner of this house.Every year, until last year, these fifty year old trees have produced an obscene amount of blooms with little care. The deciding factor in buying our home, aside from the fact we were too lazy to pack and move (we were renting the home before it went on the market) was the old growth on the property ~ the huge old trees in the yard (especially in the back yard), the camellias along the walkway.
