We woke up this morning to a (very thin) covering of snow in our yard. Willa & Winnie have never seen snow in the year and half it’s been since they were born. Why-dog seemed to recall the last snow fall and how distasteful she found the snow between her paws. After the dogs got over their confusion they seemed to enjoy romping in the slushy white stuff…until their paws started to freeze.

I stepped outside during the storm at one point last night. I’ve always loved storms ~ growing up I was the idiot who would run out into the yard during a hurricane just for the thrill of it (Long Island had the best storms ;-p) Last night’s storm did not cause much damage in our neighborhood. Despite quite a bit of groaning none of the trees in our yard fell. Several of the large pines across the street lost a few branches ~ fortunately the debris fell in the ditch and not into the road. Otherwise, the storm was pretty mild. I’m sure the overpasses on P’tree Industrial are a bit icy and the majority of commuters are over-compensating for it. ‘Cro and I are going to wait until most of the idiots are off of the road before we head to the office.

I went outside during the storm as well.
It was beautiful. So much thunder and lightning…
it almost reminded me of home.
(And yes, I’ve played in hurricanes as well!)
I was kinda surprised at the general lack of traffic on the roads.
Granted, I can’t speak for the highways,
but the Midtown surface streets were empty.
Heheh…I thought I was odd for enjoying storms so much. I loved the storms on LI ~ I’d even drive my car to the beach during the eye just to see the wall of the hurricane approach.
This morning the highways were not bad (at least I-85 between Spaghetti Junction & the I-85/I-75 merge). The surface streets ~ mainly the overpasses on P’tree Ind. ~ are what concerned me. I know I can maneuver the roads with no problems ~ the idiots in the Beemers/Mercedes/What-ever-prententious-car-is-in-vogue, zipping in and out of traffic, cutting other cars off and slamming on their brakes are what I find worrisome.
See, now I wasn’t going to admit to driving into the hurricanes, not here at least. But hell, if you as crazy as I, then why not? lol
Yeah, once I was even fortunated enough to be dating someone that surfed, so I would drive there and then stand in anticpation as the eye passed and he’d surf. It was great.
Well, West Peachtree is still rather vacant, considering. And most people seem to be driving 10 mph slower than norm. Shrug. Good luck.
Awww! Lookit the puppies!!! =D
My mother told me when I was a toddler, I’d run outside into a storm and yell at it like it was a real person– you know, tell it to quiet down or something. =P
